The cryptocurrency market saw a fabulous start in April 2022 but began its downward spiral post-April 6th. The market mostly traded on the backfoot (except April 1 to 5) with barely any positive moments in terms of price. However, that didn’t stop investors from discussing the prospects of their investments, and ICO Analytics, which collects info on the top 5 most discussed cryptos on Twitter, released their April data.

Ethereum took the sweet top spot in the top 10 most discussed cryptos list for April 2022. ETH had the largest cut of the share by dominating the Twitter space with 24% of all crypto-related discussions. This is arguably the biggest ‘top position’ chart released by ICO Analytics. Previously, the top spot would usually take anywhere between 10 to 15% of the overall crypto Twitter discussions.
Solana (SOL)
Solana came second with a 19% share of the top 10 most discussed cryptos in April. This is arguably the first time that SOL came under the top 3 list with a significant share of all crypto-related discussions in a single month. SOL mostly dipped throughout April but that didn’t stop investors from talking about its prospects.

Shiba Inu token came at a distant third with 6.5% of the overall crypto discussion share on Twitter. There’s a significant gap between SOL and SHIB with over a 12.5% difference. SHIB was in the news for its Metavserse bids, burn portal along with Shibarium updates. Therefore, it made it to the top 3 list by elbowing the other cryptos out in the market.
Bitcoin (BTC)

The leading crypto Bitcoin slid to the fourth spot after being in the top 3 positions for several months in a row. Bitcoin is at 4.7% and this is arguably the least it has performed on social media this year. The constant dip in price is what might have led investors to stop discussing BTC on Twitter last month. BTC went below the $40,000 mark more than four times in April and barely clawed back above the $44,000 mark.
Binance Coin (BNB)
Binance took the fifth position with just 2.9% of the entire crypto market discussion on Twitter. The rest of the top 10 are on the razor’s edge to BNB with just a difference of small margins. Moreover, April was not the best for cryptos hence discussions on social media saw a drastic drop.
